At the end of his visit to the United States of America, Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Abdallah Bou Habib, awarded the “Expatriate Medal” to 6 Lebanese expatriates, distinguished in the fields of medicine, economics and astronomy.

This came during his patronage of an honorary ceremony held at the Lebanese Embassy in Washington, in the presence of former Lebanese ambassadors Farid Abboud, Masoud Maalouf and Joseph Sayyah, as well as Acting Chargé d’Affaires Wael Hashem and concerned dignitaries.

Caretaker Minister Bou abib hailed the “creative Lebanese capabilities that have always formed the main pillars of Lebanon’s steadfastness,” and stressed that “the participation of about a quarter of a million Lebanese expatriates around the world in the recent parliamentary elections, and the influential role of their votes, contributed to the election of new faces in the Lebanese parliament.”

Bou Habib also praised the “achievements of the honorees, who have left a distinct mark, each in his field.”

In their delivered words, honorees expressed pride in receiving the honorary medal, hoping that Lebanon will rise again. Honorees dedicated “their success to the solid Lebanese spirit and the first generation of Lebanese families who came to the United States in the most difficult circumstances, and paved the way for later generations that were able to excel and innovate.”
