EU PARLIAMENT SACKS VICE PRESIDENT OVER GRAFT SCANDAL
The European Parliament on Tuesday voted massively to strip one of its vice presidents, Eva Kaili, of her position over a corruption scandal allegedly linked to Qatar.
MEPs voted 625 to one to remove Kaili from the post. She is one of six people who were arrested in Belgian police raids as part of a probe into suspected graft, with four having been charged and two released
Kaili’s lawyer has insisted she is innocent. — AFP
