BERRI SETS NEW DATE FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION SESSION AFTER FAILURE TO ELECT PRESIDENT

Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday chaired the presidential election session in the presence of 110 MPs.

After MPs casted their votes, the vote counting process ended with the following results:

-Michel Moawad: 42

-Blank vote: 55

-Canceled: 4

Due to the parliament’s failure to elect a new President of the Republic, the House Speaker has set a new date for another presidential election session on Monday, October 24, at 11:00 am.
