Pope Francis urged today to find a diplomatic solution to the political crisis in Niger, which resulted from a coup that threatens stability in the entire region, according to “Agence France-Presse”.
“I follow with concern what is happening in Niger, and I join the bishops in their call for peace and stability in this country and in the Sahel region,” the Pope said in the Angelus prayer before those present in St. Peter’s Square.
The Pope hoped that “the efforts of the international community will result in a political solution as soon as possible for the benefit of all.”
