Canada will continue to support the Lebanese people

Today, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau renewed Canada’s commitment to the Lebanese people during the International Conference to Support Lebanon on the first anniversary of the Beirut harbour explosion.
Canada has provided more than 420 million Canadian dollars in aid to Lebanon since 2006. And in solidarity with the Lebanese people, Canada has provided more than 30 million Canadian dollars to meet emergency humanitarian needs and rapid rise efforts following the fourth August explosion
Canada also contributes an additional $ 20 million to the World Bank Lebanon Finance Fund for reform, recovery and reconstruction based on the socio-economic recovery process for the population and business sectors most in need.
Canada will continue to support the Lebanese people in demanding justice and reforms.
Prime Minister Trudeau renewed Canada’s commitment to Lebanese people in today’s International Conference for Lebanon on the first anniversary of the Beirut Port Explosion.
Canada has provided more than $ 420 million in assistance to Lebanon since 2016. In solidarity with the people of Lebanon, Canada provided over $30M to answer urgent humanitarian needs and early-recovery efforts in the after math of last August 4th explosion.
An additional $20M Canadian contribution to the World Bank Lebanon Financing Facility will support Lebanon’s Framework for Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction, focused on the socio-economic recovery of vulnerable communities and businesses in Beirut.
Canada continues to stand behind the Lebanese people in their demand for justice and reforms.
