UNITED NATIONS: FRANCE MUST ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS OF RACISM IN THE RANKS OF THE SECURITY FORCES

The United Nations, on Friday, asked France to address problems of racism and racial discrimination in the ranks of the security forces, three days after a policeman shot dead a teenager.

Ravina Shamdasani, a spokeswoman for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, said during a press conference in Geneva, “The time has come for this country to seriously address the problems of racism and racial discrimination that are rooted in the ranks of the security forces,” according to “Agence France-Presse”.
