ارتفعت حالات الإصابة بالليستيريا بسبب منتجات الحليب النباتي Silk and Great Value إلى 18 حالة في كندا.
وبحسب آخر تحديث لـ “صحة كندا”، أمس الثلاثاء،فقد أبلغت ألبرتا ونوفا سكوتشيا عن حالة واحدة،في مقابل أربع حالات في كيبيك و12 حالة في أونتاريو وقد تم نقل ثلاثة عشر شخصًا إلى المستشفى وتوفي اثنان.
وتتراوح أعمار معظم الأشخاص الذين مرضوا بين سبعة اعوام و89 عامًا، حيث أن الأغلبية (67٪) منهم من البالغين فوق سن الخمسين وأكثر من النصف (67٪) من الإناث.
وجاء في بيان صحة كندا : “قد يستمر الإبلاغ عن أمراض أحدث في تفشي المرض لأن هناك فترة بين إصابة الشخص بالمرض والإبلاغ عن المرض لمسؤولي الصحة العامة، وبالنسبة لهذا التفشي، فإن فترة الإبلاغ عن المرض تتراوح بين تسعة إلى 29 يومًا”.
ويمكن أن تسبب الليستيريا أعراضًا مختلفة، بما في ذلك القيء والتقلصات والحمى والغثيان والإسهال وآلام العضلات والصداع والإمساك.
والأشخاص الحوامل وكبار السن والأشخاص الذين يعانون من ضعف في جهاز المناعة هم الأكثر عرضة للخطر.
وفي الحالات الشديدة من المرض، يمكن أن تنتشر البكتيريا إلى الجهاز العصبي، مما يتسبب في تصلب الرقبة والارتباك والصداع وفقدان التوازن والوفاة.
قد تظهر أعراض داء الليستريا الشديد لمدة تصل إلى 70 يومًا بعد تعرضك للبكتيريا.
