Activists on “Twitter” shared videos and pictures of Russian President Vladimir Putin embracing a copy of the Qur’an that was presented to him as a gift during his visit to a mosque in Dagestan, “Russia Today” reported.
President Putin said during his visit to a mosque in Dagestan: “Muslims are our brothers, and the Holy Qur’an is a holy book for Muslims. Russia has great respect for the Qur’an and the religious feelings of Muslims, and disrespecting this holy book in Russia is a crime, and this matter is not common in all countries.”
